Narita Aircraft Incident – Int’l Sales / Customer Service Update – March 23, 2009, 11:00 a.m. MEM/CST
FedEx Express Flight 80 (MD-11) from Guangzhou, China to Narita International Airport in Japan was involved in a major incident upon landing. The incident occurred just before 7 a.m. local time at Narita, Monday, March 23. Two crew members were onboard. Sadly, our flight crew did not survive. The loss pains all of us at FedEx. Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of our crew. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

The cause of the incident is under investigation by authorities. FedEx is working with the authorities to investigate this tragic incident.

Shipments on board Flight 80 have been identified and will be updated with a STAT84 scan and the comment “FX80 at NRT Airport MBG applicable”.
