Kindergarten students learn the verse of logistics
A trip to a Mail and More station opened the eyes of 12 Kindergarten students from Explorations Pre-School about how mail and shipments journey through the process of sending. Headed by Ms. Riya Morales, the students visited the Mail and More Shaw station on 19 January 2012.
Through a presentation by Mail and More Senior Operation Specialist, Mags Villanueva, and GBC agents, Ivy Tadena and Arlene Oliquino, the kids learned the various types of mails, filing out an airway bill, types of packaging materials, and how the entire process of shipping items takes place. An interactive activity challenged the kids to recall the process of shipping.
Compared to everyday transactions, “it was a very refreshing experience”, says Mail and More Operations Head Bloom Esplana. She adds that “it was elating that our company, among many other courier and business centers, was chosen to be part of their developmental-interaction approach, which was focused on providing as much hands-on learning experience as possible.”
As part of the program, the students prepared their shipment going to Explorations Pre-School.
Teacher Riya sent her feedback sharing how delighted her students were. “Your team was of great help to the kids, [they were] very accommodating and cheerful. The kids were really very excited”, she says.
An AIR21 courier arrived the following day to deliver their shipment and answer the kids’ inquiries.
